Whether you are planning a camping trip, moving house long distances, doing the cleaning or maintenance of your regular freezer, or whether you are a company needing to take part in some kind of activity away from the office, there is often the need for some kind of portable freezer or other temperature-controlled storage unit. Food, drinks and other goods need to be stored and kept fresh for short to long periods of time. There are several options available, including purchase, rental or lease, or making do with an improvised set up.

Buying appliances such as small freezers or portable fridges may seem to be an unnecessary cost for just one or a couple of occasions so in this case, the renting of or borrowing a cold storage unit may be a better idea. However, you may be surprised at just how much use a portable freezer that was bought as a stop-gap ends up getting as time goes on. Wasting money on cheap fridge freezers is not normally that much of a good idea, because they are cheap for a reason. And if you use them more often than not, they will probably get worn or expire quite quickly. If they are not used much and go into storage, they are likely to succumb to algae or some other unpleasant contamination so that they have to be cleaned very thoroughly or to the point where cleaning just will not do. It is best to either, spend more than you had planned or hire a good quality unit with a maintenance service in the contract.

Hiring or leasing temperature-controlled storage units is often the best solution, as it enables you to choose the ideal specification for each occasion. For example, one particular event may require the extra power or size on an industrial freezer or an extra small, portable unit. In addition to not having to buy but just hiring instead, takes away the need for servicing and depreciation. The most important parts of any cold-storage or temperature-controlled storage unit are its seals and of course its freezer compressor. If kept in good, working order, these parts ensure the economical and reliable performance that is necessary for the job at hand. If, however, they are not working properly, the cost of the inconvenience of replacing damaged goods and paying for a service or replacing that parts themselves, can be an unnecessary financial burden.

There is a lesson to be learnt and that is, unless you know for sure that you can regularly use the same size of temperature-controlled storage unit or portable blast freezers, you are probably much better off hiring, or leasing, one from a reputable company that provides a twenty-four hour call-out maintenance service and one that can provide testimonials backing up their claim to offering up-to-date and high-quality products and good maintenance service around the clock. Spend the time and money you save on other, more worthwhile, products and services. Leave the maintenance and depreciation of cold storage units to, someone else; the experts.
